I’m new to WikiTree and I am wondering if this is the correct field to list educational degrees?  ie. B.Sc. for Bachelor of Science degree.

The suffix field should only be used for a suffix that the person actually used when writing his or her name.

Here's the link to the help page:  Help:Name Fields (wikitree.com)

Which says:

Suffix appears in every name display on WikiTree, even when a Prefix, Middle Name, or Current Last Name do not appear. Therefore, it is generally reserved for suffixes that are an essential part of the person's name. It is usually a Suffix at Birth, e.g. Jr. It may be a suffix or post-nominal acquired during a person's lifetime if the person themselves would have included it when writing their full name, e.g. Bt for Baronet. It should never be a suffix acquired after death or a suffix the person themselves would not have used.

If the person had multiple suffixes, it should generally only be the most important one for identification purposes. Others should be described in the biography. If a Prefix could substitute for a Suffix, that is recommended.

Suffix is limited to 10 characters.

I doubt most with post-nominals signed as such, yet we have KCMG, DSO, MID, CB JP, BA, etc on profiles.

I'd put them on a profile although I'll admit mine has nothing.  I think I'd like them after I'm dead! Post nominals mark achievements and are part of that person's life even if they don't use them very much in normal everyday life.

Most of us don't use our formal full names for everyday correspondence We might use  post nominals in more forma circumstances; for example when  writing in a professional  capacity . We'd probably use them for the  authorship of an academic paper but probably not if writing a novel.  Doctors and lawyers often include their 'letters' on brass plaques or printed notepaper.

And  I've been reading this morning about a ' Reverend Canon Professor ________PhD, FRHistS, FSA .She's the new Dean of Christ  Church Oxford.   Every previous incumbent is  on wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean_of_Christ_Church,_Oxford. A notable woman,  first in her field ,the announcements  and articles all incude the lot.  That lot won't fit in the boxes but I've argued before that they are too small.

I don't use my university degrees and other qualifications on casual correspondence, but I certainly would if they were relevant to the subject matter and I wanted the other person to be aware that I knew what I was talking about.
