Finding orphan profiles sooner : by verifying email addresses

A consideration for helping track email addresses that are no longer valid: and hence profile managers who may not be responsive:

If the community was ok with a monthly digest / newsletter / blog summary being emailed our: any bounced emails would indicate the profile manager may not be reachable.

this may reduce the "timeout" period for some profiles : as it would identify early orphans.

Seems I much angst about profile merges being delayed by responsiveness of some managers.

Good question.  We all are finding non responsive managers.  Some are active and some not.  What would be the format for a news letter, digest or blog?  Maybe something like X members joined, X messages responded too etc... Who then would take on the task.  Maybe, it could be done through our watch list.  When it is sent any emails that bounce back could be concidered for the orphan file.  The watch list is already in place and would work if structured as such.

Exactly.

I would consider having a group of folks that are on special projects: that are editors of a single page update: a group similar to arborists, or supervisors: but their role would be "bloggers/etc.".

Even if there were a group of four folks, it wouldn't be but a newsletter three times a year they would sign up for : a modest investment, for a major return.

We could have half of the note be pretty pro forma: and almost generated by reports; the balance could be an update on best practices, some good examples of profiles, congratulations on superstars and new G2G6 badges, etc.
Great points.
