Sarah White parents which set?

Hi

I have parents of Sarah White down as William Joseph White and Ann Powell Humphrey. But they married 6 years after their daughter Sarah (1817). And the marriage (1822) was in London while the entirety of this tree branch is in Hampshire (Portsea mostly).

So I think the actual mother of Sarah might be Ann Clark. She married a William White in 1817 in Portsea, St Mary's Church.

Can someone have a look for a confirmation of which one is which? I currently have Ann Powell Humphrey on Wikitree and Ancestry as the mother but would like to change it to the right one if need be.

Best wishes! Such problems frequently present here on this side of the pond as well. There were more Field, White, and Clark families among 17th century immigrants to New England than most people imagine.

One way to start might be to track down who Elizabeth Fanny Charlotte White & William J White were, as they were both witnesses at George/Sarah's wedding. I haven't had much luck in tracking them down so far though.

Edited as It was William J White (not D)

To complicate things, if it was Ann Clark, they were both widowed, so not her maiden name - their marriage was witnessed by Jane Charlotte Tout and Thomas Tout.

It looks as though Sarah had an older brother, Joseph William White (b1815) who was baptised alongside her on 9 Nov 1817.  Was this after the 1817 marriage of William White and Ann Clark? Might they have been baptising their children once they'd "regularised" their relationship?  (Or were there other older children baptised earlier?)
