This is a recent upload to YouTube from the American Revolution Institute about recent excavations of the site of the Battle of Red Bank. YouTube video of the American Revolution Institute talk about Red Bank Battlefield
Items that seemed interesting to me:
A mass grave of some of the soldiers killed in the battle was unexpectedly found at the site. At least 15 individuals (thought to be likely Hessian Soldiers) were found. More are expected to be found should excavations continue.
There is a possibility of some DNA recovery being attempted, so if you are related, especially matrilineally, to soldiers who died at the battle of Red Bank, I expect the excavators might be interested in hearing from you.
The American Navy played a decisive part in this battle. I had no idea, did you?
Hessian soldiers were known to have worn their hair long (down to their waists in some cases) and braided. I had no idea...
This fort outside Philadelphia was defended by soldiers from Rhode Island.
