Hi Wikitreers

In the photo on back side is her name but I can not interpret or decipher. Need a little collaboration in deterring M. Greene first name. Any collaboration is appreciated. A beautiful CDV photo of her see below. Please note last name is “Greene” not “Green” she needs connecting. She most likely was from or born in  Rhode Island in the Providence area.

Thank you

Note: Possibly a Miriam or Merriam? If first name is unique might be very beneficial in her genealogy as her last name Greene is very common

I read it as "Mammi" , which could be bad spelling for Maimie?

Maybe a “Marmmie”
No "r" in there. That little swirl is the way an M or N started out, true handwriting.

Perhaps it could be Mammi as in "Mother" Greene
Consensus seems to point towards “Mammi” I placed this in the nickname section

My eyes see Ma-----i.  It looks most like "Mammi", maybe a misspelling of "Mamie"? but the letter right after the "a" looks enough like the "r" in "Greene" to cast some doubt.

Like a “Marnie”?
Too many humps for "Marnie".  I think it's most likely a mis-spelled "Mamie", or maybe "Mammi" was her unique nickname.

Here is a death record for a young lady aged 23 named Mehetable Hattie Marie Greene of Providence Rhode Island. Any number of those names could be the name on the back of the photo. (With reservations of course given the commonality of the names)

It is possible; interesting document if it’s her? seems based on the info her birth is 1881; so if 20’s when pic taken this places time of photo in early 1900-1910. The period of clothing she is wearing suggests earlier?

This person in record was a nurse who died at age 23 on April 13, 1905 see FindAGrave. Interesting as father is from Virginia mother Rhode Island but the Race is not identifying as white/Caucasian. So not likely? This person though is very very interesting !
