Help us find and improve next week's Connection Finder profiles: Irish Notables [closed]

Our WikiTree Challenge in association with the North of Ireland Family History Society is now in progress, so we're looking at Irish Notables in the Connection Finder next week.

Here's who the challenge participants are researching:

Who else should we feature? We have room for eleven notables. We can't feature everyone who is nominated, but if we don't feature a profile you work on, we may use it sometime in the future. And, of course, all contributions help improve our shared tree.

Our choice of features will depend partly on the notable person's CC7, i.e. their connection count within seven degrees. The more connections they have, the more likely it is for all WikiTree members to find a close and interesting connection to them. So, if you nominate someone, please help grow their CC7.

We'll make a final decision on which ones to feature early next week.

Please reply here with what you're working on so that we don't duplicate our efforts. Thank you!

Take note that this is not the place to discuss why you think we shouldn't feature someone if those reasons are due to politics, actions, or opinions of those being suggested.  Mentioning things like their not being connected, their biography still needing work, erroneous information, etc. are all suitable for discussion here and an opportunity to correct those situations.

Help us plan Connection Finder themes for 2023 here.

What list of Irish Notables could omit the great Arthur Guinness, the inventor of Guinness Beer, a product which has more than endured over 260+ years. He not only founded the brewery by the same name, he has arguably brought more joy and happiness to humanity than perhaps most other man made creations!!

Hedges Eyre Chatterton - after surviving a boating accident as a boy - Hedges  studied at Trinity, called to the bar in 1847:

1866 - 1867 Solicitor General for Ireland
1867 - 1904 Attorney General for Ireland and Vice Chancellor.

He was a JP for counties Cork and Dublin and immortalised in James Joyce’s Ulysses at Ned Lambert’s Uncle. He was painted by Thomas A Jones (1823-1893) RHA and the portrait was left to the Kings Inn

Thanks, Brian and Jeanette.

The profile would need a lot of work to improve and connect, but gosh it would be lovely to see Father Ted in the list. Doubly so with the recent 25th anniversary of his passing.

Thanks, Carol! We're Father Ted fans here. It's too bad he's not ready for this time, but hopefully by the next time we have Ireland in the Connection Finder.

The Grammy-winning singer Enya Ní Bhraonáin, from the north of Ireland, currently [[Bhraonáin-1]], needs her LNAB fixed and needs to be connected.

Just thought I would mention her here as a prompt to people in the Notables Project to have another look at my various comments on her profile.

Thanks, Paddy. Maybe we can get her connected by the next go round.
