I joined WikiTree last week to try to find information about my GG Grandfather, Nathaniel McDonald (1826 - 1907)

I found him on someone’s family tree, married to Margaret Robertson - my GG grandmother.

However, I have found so many discrepancies. I wrote to the manager of the tree and she send me information about other family members on her side of the family, but nothing about Nathaniel.

How can I add my records of Nathaniel when there are errors on her page? She lists Nathaniel’s children, but they are the not the children I have found on censuses or Scotland’s People. She has children born near Glasgow, when all Nathaniel’s children were born in Inverness shire. She has Nathaniel married in Girvan, when I have the marriage record for Inverness shire.

What do I do?

It very likely that there is more than one Nathaniel McDonald living in Scotland at that time and more than one Margaret Robertson.

You need to give us more information. The profile ID number for the person you thought was your ancestor.

The names of the children who have your Nathaniel as father, that is the children that were born at or near Inverness, any records for the baptism of the children, the census records, their mother's name, a marriage record if you have one.

Information about the descendant line between the GGP and you or your parents.

It will be enough to start researching both Nathaniels.
