G2G: Exploring accuracy of connection to Göstaf Knutsson Roos Af Hjälmsäter

I just joined Wikitree G2G and am very excited to find this.   I have developed an extensive tree over the last 18 months and am excited to contribute to this project.  But before I do that, I'd like some help establishing whether Göstaf Adolf Knutsson Roos Af Hjälmsäter (1487-1537) (knutsson-232) had a son named Nils Gustavsson Roos af Hjelmsater 1512-1560.  On Göstaf's profile, there's a note at the bottom that he had 3 children with his first marriage, with a Nils being listed as one of those children.  Ancestry.com is the site that first said that these two individuals are linked, but I want to be sure.  On the profile for Nils on Geni it says that no link has been established.

Once one becomes a descendant of Göstaf's, wikitree and ancestry both have an EXTENSIVE history of individuals going back MUCH further than most ancestry records do, so it would be extremely exciting if this connection is there.  For over a year I assumed that Ancestry.com was just wildly inaccurate because I didn't think it was possible for records to go back this far, but now that I see that wikitree has these same very old records, my interest is renewed.

You will have a problem proving your descent from Göstaf's son Nils, since Nils does not seem to have had any known descendants.

The source listed on the profile for Göstaf Knutsson Roos af Hjelmsäter - Svenska adelns ättar-taflor / Afdelning 3. von Nackreij - Skytte / (1858-1864) Author: Gabriel Anrep. Page 435 - lists a son Nils from Göstaf's marriage to Britta Ribbing. However, looking at the facsimile at http://runeberg.org/anrep/3/0439.html , there are tables for the descendants of sons Knut and son Erik, but no known descendants of Nils.

Anrep compiled his work from the annals and genealogies kept by Riddarhuset. His work was later augmented and corrected by Gustaf Elgenstierna in Den introducerade svenska adelns ättartavlor (1925-36), which is the basis for the genealogies at adelsvapen.com. https://www.adelsvapen.com/genealogi/Roos_af_Hjelms%C3%A4ter_nr_51#TAB_9 also shows a son Nils, without documented issue.
