Looking for the father of Ernest A Simard b Nov 10, 1886 Stockton, CA

Question

Doing research on our branch of the Simard family reputed to have moved from Canada to the Stockton, CA area in the 1800's.

We have Ernest Albert Simard, born November 10, 1886 in Stockton, CA  but are unable to locate his father.

He died on August 1, 1954 in Italy. He was married in Stockton to Stella Mae Tyer. They had three children.
