Hi Wikitreers laugh

We have in my album and collection a young beautiful woman named Katherine Diehl which appears to be in 19th century dress? She had her photo taken in Philadelphia at a studio.

Maybe the Diehl genealogy can find more about her and connect the dots. Do you have the surname Diehl in your genealogy?

Thank you

Note: middle letter in name needs decipher. She is likely of Germanic genealogy

Andrew, I can take a look and see if I can find anything more about her.  I have worked on several Diehl lines previously. Most of them arrived in Pennsylvania from what is now Germany.

My first impression of the middle initial is that it is a "C" and there is at least one "Katherina C. Diehl" found in the 1900 census born about 1877. Will see what else I might find.

Great about having the photo.

Thank you David,

I’d love to get more of these “CDV” connected to their respective genealogies. A treasure lost in time but not forgotten…

Hi Andrew,

I have a Katherine Diehl in my ancestry tree. My Katherine Diehl was born 1882 and died 1936. She was actually Katherine Ritchie, then married Clayton Zacharia Diehl.

It's a beautiful photo; I am only related by marriage. My great-aunts husbands parents were Clayton and Katherine.

I don't have more information than that. Maybe it helps a little?

Hi Julie,

Thank you for the response

It’s very possible as the dates seem to match time frame, unfortunately not many clues in the photo or maybe clues I can not see. The middle initial is a mystery. The location is Philadelphia or at least it seems that is where she had her photo taken. The clothing and jewelry she is wearing might be clues. Then again the possibility is there that there is a descendent that looks very much like her and shares the same surname in their lineage.

She might be always a mysterylaugh

Edit: is your Diehl ancestor in Wikitree or does she have a link?
