We need help on a Webb, Lincoln, and Boone family problem

Question

Problem:   2 Different Mary Webbs from the same parents, 2 Different husbands for these Mary Webbs and 2 Different Find A Graves for each of the Mary Webbs and just One set of Quaker Parents for these two Mary Webbs.  Either one is wrong, or they are both right and their mother gave birth to both (different birth and death dates for the girls..but only a year apart) or one of the girls was adopted by the Webbs, or the Mary married to Lincoln had a possible different last name.  Her middle name in some texts believe her to be Ward..but no such girl with the same birth, etc. has been found.

Facts:  Webb girls-

1. Webb-21486      = Mary Webb (Sterrett)   husband:  John Sterrett   (Sterrett-257)

2. Webb-541          = Mary Webb (Lincoln)  husband:  Mordecai Lincoln  (Lincoln-249)

3. Marys’ parents   = John Harrod Webb  (Webb-1629) and Mary Boone Webb- (Boone-93)

There are only a few primary sources (see their profiles).  secondary or tertiary sources show:

1. Lincoln genealogy sources also state Moredecai Lincoln (Lincolns great uncle) married this Mary Webb.  

2.  Webb and Boone sources also state Mary Webb married John Sterrett.

It is time for more help.  What am I missing?

FWIW, Mary Webb #1's husband is set in Wikitree as https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Starrett-257 (with an a), not Sterrett-257 (with an e).

If you look at the original Document by the Quakers, it said Sterrett.  But I changed the spelling.

Good luck, I can go through my notes from last year...but, people keep changing the profiles.

Any changes you made are under CHANGES..to see the progression of data.  I put a verbal appeal in writing to not change anything  on the two Marys..

Not much has really changed…except to combine data in a wikitree format as best I can.. It is not my forte’

What we don’t really know is where Mary Ward Webb Lincoln was born, or who her real parents were.  I believe she is not really a Webb, and is probably a Ward.  But no proof.  

When this is proved, then we have to let all the famous Lincoln writers and family researchers are wrong.  

And, under the Boone Society..the “Five Generations of Boone” they list the children of John Webb and Mary Boone Webb but they don’t go into who their children married.  Even the main genealogy work done on the Boones in the 1920’s (which I have a copy from Forgotten Books) doesn’t discuss Mary Webb, the daughter who married Starrett.  

Granted, the Boones info and the genealogy I have are secondary and/or tertiary sources.  The same holds true of Lincolns wife in Lincoln genealogy.

Lynn, I have added the Quakers tag to this G2G since the parents of at least one of the profiles is documented as Quaker. Perhaps Quakers Project can assist with this for at least one of the profiles.

Is there a succinct discussion somewhere on the issue and it's history? A free-space page linked to both profiles may be a good idea so that someone can quickly grasp the key identification issues.

Excerpts from Webb, Boone, Sterrets  7.  Questions asked along the way and 7. Misc. data.  8. and I will get us a space for all this and get the profile cleaned up and dusted…

This Mordecai was Abe's grandfather's 2nd cousin.  Both Mordecai's  had the same grandfather.
