Welcome aboard, Lisa!

To protect against spam, remove the email address from your post. If someone replies, like I'm doing now, you'll get an email.

I hope you will consider upgrading to family member. Then you can start adding or connecting to your family branches. Looks like Clara's profile needs someone to take care of her profile (maybe you). Come back here to the forum if you have any further questions.

The Dixson's are Scots, an old branch from the family of the Keith's, Marshals of Scotland.

My Dixon’s were from Roscommon Ireland not Scotland

Well there are a ton of Scots Families that have been in Ireland for multiple generations. My own grandfather of line was one of them. In order to hold the land grants given to these Scot families, you had to stay for 5 years.  Grandfather Bernard Lindsay did, and then promptly returned to Scotland, but many stayed. Your Dixson name was created (son of Richard , or son of Dick, the short name for Richard) by the Keith family, High Marshals of Scotland.

Capt Joseph Lindsay Haley III Esq ATP FSA Scot.  I have access to the Libraries of Scotland's National Museum.and archives.

The records so hard.

All I know is an obituary from Mary great grandmother says Springfield, Castlerea Roscommon.

Her father was a Thomas Dixon 1800 mother Bridget (unknown) .

Children Micheal, Mary, Margaret,John and Annie. Only Michael and Mary Elizabeth were born in Ireland. We’re in Canada around 1851 as they appear on census.
