G2G: Can't add DNA to a profile I manage

We've recently taken another DNA test and I don't have the option to upload the results for my partner, who's profile I manage. It seems his MyHeritage results we took a few years ago is missing as well. Every time I go to add DNA results, it takes me to my own profile. I followed the steps in the help section but keep encountering the same issue.

You are only able to add DNA results to your own profile.

Thank you for your response, I'll try to see if he can access his login so he can!

I believe there is at least one exception to that rule as one can add the DNA information for deceased relatives.

Yes, as long as the DNA test information is for a test that the person took before they died. (I have seen some profiles with information from a 23andMe DNA test, but the person died well before 2007 when 23andMe DNA tests became available.)

Casey,

I believe you are probably referring to the DNA items that WikiTree requests on a profile about the testing company's results (like this). WikiTree policy only allows others to add that information for non-living members for privacy reasons since the advent of the EU's GDPR.

Just to be clear, WikiTree doesn't need the raw DNA test data from the testing company. If you need to compare results from different testing companies, you can upload the raw data to GEDmatch and compare them there. (You can also do comparisons that may not be possible on the testing companies site.)
