Robert Battle and his colleague John C. Brandon have been researching Clarke and related families for well over a decade. Their recently published article, "Identity of Anne, First Wife of Robert Woodmansey, Schoolmaster of Boston, Massachusetts, and of Her Niece, Anne (Not Storer), Wife of James Truman and Robert Skinner of Maryland" (published in the Winter 2023 edition of the New England Historical and Genealogical Register) solves the long controversial parentage of Anne (Clarke) (Truman) Skinner, born 1637 in Grantham, Lincolnshire, England.
