Inherited GEDCOM file reference

I have inherited a printed GEDCOM file, which I have scanned and converted to a real file. I am in the process of importing it, but would like to add some sort of source reference, at least until a full source is found. I have a lot of other documents to sort through which will take some time.

In the meantime, is it reasonable to add a Free-Space page with the scan of the file, and reference that on the created profiles?

When I inherited my relatives' two paper pedigrees, I entered them manually one at a time into Ancestry.com and then created a GEDCOM to upload into Wikitree.

Referencing source records usually means vital records or census records, other some other event in history. It's not a really good genealogical practice to point a profile you created to a GEDCOM you created and call it a source.

Thanks for the answer, but it's not quite the same. I'm asking about an inherited GEDCOM file, rather than a pedigree. I didn't create the GEDCOM from anything, it's in a bunch of documents I inherited and has been printed out. I trust most of its content as there is an overlap of existing individuals.

I'm asking how to reference this GEDCOM as a source until I can find more concrete records.
It would be better to mark each profile without a source record with {{Unsourced}} than to make a false reference to GEDCOM file which is not a source at all.
