G2G: Theologian Herman Bavinck needs to work

Question

In a discussion elsewhere, I recalled that some years ago I read a book written by Dutch theologian Herman Bavinck. I found his orphaned profile and added a few sources (a couple of which I did not understand) and included some of his publications in a section under the bio. There are profiles for his parents.

Bavinck needs a bio, and I hesitate to do one myself (nor attempt to connect him to our Shared Tree) as this probably should fall under the auspicies of the Netherlands Project. The necessary work is out of my skill set.

I've added his birth certificate with a paragraph about his birth.

I can't find a marriage and death certificate, but he seems to have died in Amsterdam and that archive does things differently.

I've also added some information about his role in the church. But I don't have enough knowledge of the protestant churches in the Netherlands to really know what the differences between all those splits are. They seems rather minor.

It's also hard to translate Dutch protestant movement names to English. In Dutch words like 'hervormd', 'gereformeerd' and 'reformatorisch' are used to differentiate between them, but they all translate to 'reformed'.

Thanks Joke. I've added this as a source for his death. I've also added some other sources and family members. A source for his marriage date and location is still needed and maybe some more text about the theological work he has done.

His son-in-law and two grandsons were all resistance members during WOII, which they didn't survive.
