Who was Amelia E. Dickeson's (born in Canada in 1846) father?

I am trying to find Amelia E. Dickeson's father's information. What I know through Ancestry.com is the following:  Amelia's mother's name was Margaret C. (no maiden name), and Amelia's father died before she immigrated from Canada with her mother, in1860 to Rochester, NY.  Margaret C. after being widowed, went on to marry a man named Solomon Farnham Kimball of Mendon, NY

Amelia E. Dickeson married Jerome B. Wells and resided in Rochester with her young daughter Mary May Wells (my great grandmother) and siblings.

Amelia's father's birth location is listed as Scotland and her mother was born in Canada (English) in 1821. Amelia E. was also born in Canada but immigrated at the age of 14 to the U. S.

If anyone can help with finding "Mr. Dickeson"  and info on where he came from in Scotland, his first name, death, etc. that would be great...thanks so much!

1. Do you know what part of Canada they were from? The more specific you can nail that down, the more likely you can do an effective search for spelling variants.

2. Do you know what the middle initial E stands for? I see a large number of children whose name varies from census to census as they bounce back and forth between first name, middle name, etc.

3, Do you know what religous denomination the family was? In addition to helping confirm a census identity, The Wesleyan Methodists maintained relatively extensive baptismal records

St. Thomas Elgin Ontario Canada is where Amelia E. Dickison was born. We do not know what her middle name was. All documents list it as the initial E.

I am not sure what religious beliefs they followed.
