The funeral of Mr P Cormack which took place on Monday last from his late residence, Steepleview House, Grangefertagh, to the family burial place, Fennor Churchyard, Urlingford, was the largest ever witnessed in the locality, being over a mile long, and comprising over 200 cars.The Galmoy Volunteers, of which he was captain, marched in the funeral procession officered by Lieutenants John Fitzpatrick, Galmoy and Thomas Phelan, Bawn. The deceased, who was only 24yrs of age, was universally popular with all classes, and his sad end is deeply regretted. The chief mourners were:- Mrs Cormack (grandmother), Mary, Kate, Maggie and Bessy (sisters); Tim, Phil and Joe (brothers); Matt Maher , Freshford; Tom Bowe, Capponellan House; Richard Gannon, Cooleney; Denis Cormack, Castletown; James Gannon, Ballyspellan (cousins). Wreaths were laid on the grave by Galmoy volunteers, Johnstown Hurling Club; and flowers by Mr. and Mrs. Stanley, Glashare; Mr. W and Mrs. Barton, Phillipsburgh. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mrs Harrington, Urlingford. "
