Last name is different in Gedcom merge

Question 1

I read an answer on the G2G about merging the same person (male) with a different birth name and last name I knew him as. How do I merge these profiles and make sure that both last names are in the profile?

Hi Shannon,

I see from http://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Special:NetworkFeed&who=Diaz-323 that you did the merge. The last name on the merged-in profile was Benzon and you kept Diaz.

I just edited Diaz-323 so it has Benzon as an "Other Last Name." That's what I'd recommend, unless one is more properly the Last Name at Birth and the other is the Current Last Name. See http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Name_Fields for more explanation on the usage of name fields.
