Robert Parrs parentage

+3 votes
I am trying to prove or otherwise the parentage of Robert Parr b 1549 in Eccles. In many trees including yours they point to William Parr and Elizabeth Brookes. Burkes peerage, the authority on British landed gentry, state that there was no children from this marriage. Can you please furnish me with any evidence you may have to the contrary. Thanking you in anticipation Malcolm Parr, Leigh Lancashire (about 5 miles from Eccles) and a direct distant relative of Robert.

Burkes Peerage:   The info you are describing, should have included the

statement "as far as they know" .

On March 31st 1551 Parliament passed a bill ,annuling William Parrs 1st marriage

and making marriage to Elizabeth Brookes legal.

perhaps ,and i do not have any records to prove this,Robert could have been there

son.Find My Past  only has records back to 1575 .

It is going to be difficult for you to prove anything.Remember this is 500 years ago.
