I have attached a copy of the OPR entry for this marriage to [[Martine-233|Robert Martine (bef.1703-aft.1745)]].

The best I can read is:

Marriag ? signifying that Robt Martine & Janet Hallwell were married at ? the fifth of septr laft by ? James Mathben Minr witnesses James ? & ? Atckeson

Can anyone help interpret the "?" bits?

Unable read the first ? - but I think they were married at 'Berwick' the fifth of septr last by 'Mr' James Mathben [would suggest this is abbreviated 'Minister'] witnesses James ? and 'Sophia' Atcheson

Thanks. Yes it looks like Berwick but the only places I could find with that in the name seemed too far from Coldingham.
The place of marriage would depend on where the parties were living at the time ;

Coldingham - Berwick = 12.7 miles

Berwick - Duns = 15.8 miles

Duns - Coldingham = 13.5 miles
