How is this information about an historically noted titled Christian family with no hint of a connection to any Jewish families which may have adopted a similar surname when legally required to do so after this period relevant to Wolf “Wolek” who may never in fact have borne any outright surname during his lifetime? What are your primary and secondary sources for the proof of his existence in his Jewish milieu and context? What in addition are your proofs for his filiation as the son of Peter Schernecke, a Protestant soldier, and Peter’s proven son Andreas Peter? I should be interested in learning what evidence you have and whether you can provide a relevant page or pages from “The Jews of Posen Province in the Nineteenth Century.” Regards, Upton
