William Musgrove married Sarah Grindley 24th May 1789 Chester England which I already knew. It states that he was of this parish. There is also an intended marriage on the 23 May which states he was a widower aged 23.  I can find no birth or death of him and I know that it must have been before 1825 as I have the will of his wife which states that she is a widow

Even if someone states 'of this parish' it doesn't mean they were born there or even that they had lived there for more than a few weeks. I believe the minimum requirement was 30 days. So unfortunately he could have come from anywhere.

I assume you have searched on the Family Search website for his burial. Not all parishes are covered and for those that are, not all burials are indexed, so you may not find it there.

Do you have any idea of where his children were baptised? That may give you a clue where the family were living, then you can search the records for that parish for his burial.

Otherwise I suggest looking for his previous marriage - you may be able to narrow down the possiblities for this by looking for a burial for the bride a few years later. I suspect however the only way to do this will be to plough through the original records in Cheshire.
