No, MH is not part of WikiTree.
I don't think you'll get email notifications from MyHeritage unless you have an account with them. You don't need to be active there to get email from them, if you have joined the "site" of somebody else, who is active and have their email settings for notifications to site members on.
I have a free account at MyHeritage which I very seldom do anything with. If I do log on, which is rare, and look for something, then I get “Smart Matches” which are not infrequently from my work at WikiTree, or FamilySearch.

I suppose this is just a way of trying to get me to subscribe. But why would I subscribe to a site that searches free sites?

So, I look at their matches which has most information hidden and then delete it.
I pay for a research account at MyHeritage and have an old tree there which is within their limit for a free account. The tree is very locked down and dormant. I log in quite often to do searches for various reasons. I seem to have managed to de-select all the ways to get notification email; there is a settings page for that.
