Transcribing volunteers

Hi everyone

I'm just curious to see if others are doing and volunteer transcribing work for groups such as Freereg or Freecen?

What got you into it, how long have you been doing it? I'm looking at having a go - I use those sites regularly and thought it would be great to help.

I'd love to hear from others who do it.

I attempted to do FreeReg, but they're quite fussy about the format to submit, and then they never replied after I submitted one.

I never heard of that one.  I did quite a bit with the 1950 census though.
