Kay Wilson has proposed a merge between Joseph Koenig (Koenig-1617) and Joseph Koenig (Koenig-565)[Thank Kay for this]
Click here to compare the profiles side-by-side.

Kay says Koenig-1617 and Koenig-565 appear to represent the same person because: so how does this work, does it take that said person from my family? it should not I think it should add her to mine.

Greetings Kenny Johnson  ... I noticed that you are the profile manager for both profiles. Are they the same person ? If so;  when you merge select the information to combine into one profile. You'll remain the profile manager. Once merged, the profile and biography information remain connected to the family members listed.

ok, So Is each person its own separate entity?

No matter who has the family member as a link in the family showing up it is there for them as long as they can prove they have the information they need right. so no one can steal them away correct? I think I am understanding what your platform is doing.

Yes your correct .. The two profiles are duplicates and when merged they become one profile, you remain the profile manager, the information present in both profiles is preserved and the family connections are maintained. In this case because you are the profile manager for both profiles, it is an easy process for you to authenticate, edit, combine and stay connected to it's family tree both during the merge and after the merge.

Secure, easy and accurate merge.   If they are the same, I recommend merging them as Kay Wilson suggested.

C'est Bon ..

Hi Kenny

The ʻthingʻ about WikiTree is that there is supposed to be only one profile for each person. Everyone belongs to one big tree.

So when 2 profiles are merged no one gives up an ancestor.

If Joseph is her grandfather, he can still be your uncle and he can be someoneʻs husband and someoneʻs brother. And he can have descendants that show up in many families. But he is still the same Joseph with lots of connections.

Just noticed you completed the merge .. Looks Great ! .. Was it a success for the profile ?

I just got it . Thanks folks, It took a min. I was like but they are stealing my person!, no I get it.
