Hi,
Please create a sticker for the Category: Dakota War of 1862.
A number of my ancestors in Minnesota fought in the Dakota War of 1862, including the significant Battle of Birch Coulee and the various expeditions. While I recognize that this is a minor war by US standards and that it was drowned out by the Civil War (in which my ancestors and in-laws found themselves embroiled as a flow on from the Dakota War for which they had actually volunteered), it is a significant and often overlooked part of American history with ramifications for ALL parties involved. While there was an overlap with the Civil War, it was a separate war with unique objectives and a different set of combatants. A sticker in recognition would be much appreciated. Thanks for your consideration.
NOTE: Only 2 profiles link to the Dakota War category via a sticker now, both through use of a KIA sticker. One is my GGF's brother-in-law Colledge-291, which I placed there. I gave him a Civil War sticker only because no Dakota War sticker existed.
