What does "DO" cause of death on an 1870 death register mean?

I was looking at my great great grandfather's death certificate

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-L9ZR-J9ZB-H?i=41&cc=2128172&personaUrl=%2Fark%3A%2F61903%2F1%3A1%3AF66S-3MS

am wondering what cause of death "DO" means?  I looked at other pages to see if the initials matched as an abbreviation of something else.

Can anyone tell me what this is?

Probably "ditto." I see it all the time in census records.
