G2G: Would you like to be part of the Titanic Project?

Question

The Titanic Project is looking for volunteers to help create, improve and connect profiles for all those on board the ship on that fateful day. Would you like to help us give these profiles the attention they deserve?

1500 people lost their lives in a disaster that touched people all over the world, a loss of life on this scale had never been seen before. 

111 years on and the Titanic continues to reveal its secrets, more and more is learned about those last few hours before the ship sank. Stories of bravery and loss both during and after the disaster, for those that survived, are still being discovered.

Our goal is to have fully sourced, connected profiles with beautiful biographies for everyone on the Titanic. If you feel you could help us in any way we would be delighted to have you on the Project. Please post an answer on this G2G feed and I will award your Project Badge. I will help you choose a profile or area you wish to work on.

It will be a team effort, some of us are great connectors, some are great Bio-builders and some are great Sourcerers. To achieve our goals we need all of you!

And, what is the difference between the sticker in the Biography section and the one above in the Category section, please? Should we use one, the other, or both?

The sticker is for profiles that are not managed by the Titanic Project.    Profiles that are managed by the Titanic Project get the Project box which is the one that shows up above the Biography.   Only one is used, depending on whether it is managed by the project.

I have been delayed on progressing this project due to personal issues and other projects taking my time, but I have updated the Project page and am working to keep this progressing.

The way I have it set up, the largest immediate need is creating & sourcing profiles for 3rd Class & Crew, and adding biographies for all passengers/crew and connecting them to the main tree.

I am open to any help and other ideas as well. Check out the To Do Area of the Project page for links to lists of passengers and areas that need help.  Keeping the lists up to date is an ongoing project but it is the best place to start.  Contact me at blckhorse@hotmail.com or through this G2G and I will work to be a better communicator!

As far as passengers & crew with French connections, the starter profiles have been created for them, but many need connected to the main tree.  Here is a search that will show a list of 35 Titanic profiles with a French location that need connected to the main tree.  https://plus.wikitree.com/default.htm?report=srch1&Query=CategoryFull%3DRMS_Titanic+location%3DFrance+unconnected&MaxProfiles=500&Format=  Once you go to this link, hit the "Get Profiles" button and it will list the profiles for you.
