I need help with a categorization table for schools.

First of all I could not find a page that explains what style guide is expected for schools. The free space pages that had schools listed has inconsistent formatting. The question I have is what levels of categorization does it need. For example

Country- state/province- county/territory- city/town- school name

Can this be added to the trello  server to be discussed? Thank you for taking the time to read this.

There is currently no approved structure or proposal for the categorization of schools. The current structure is generally a free-for-all, users adding categories as needed trying to follow the existing structure.

For topics, the format is <Topic>, <Location> (e.g., North Mesquite High School, Mesquite, Texas).

One of the problems with the current structure is that there are tons of empty categories that were created before there was intended use (especially in the USA structure).

I would start here (Help:Categorization (wikitree.com)). There are already many schools listed, and it gives links to the category pages for you to view.

Just looking at what already exists, they are broken down, as you mentioned above, by Country, State, County, Town, etc.

I would look at a few of these to decide how to format your new category. If you need help with this, or have questions, then follow up with a new post.

Generally, colleges/universities are named just with the name of the school. A category info box can be used to fill in the location, parent categories, etc.

Example:Temple University

Primary/Secondary schools in the US are named by [[Category:School Name, City/Town/Village, State]] with the category info box used for the information.

Example: South Philadelphia High School, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

You can open either of those to the edit mode to see how the parameters are filled in.

Steve's right though; there is no standard set in place for the naming.
