My name is Laura Burchfield, I'm just here to update and correct some issues with my grandparents names and spellings. And I'm also going to add their descendants, as it would be my father and Aunts. There is nothing there. I did a complete Genealogy of my Burchfield line back in the 80's.. unfortunately in the 90's I had a crazy person for a roommate and she burned everything.. as for my direct line, my grandparents, father and Aunts.. I know the information. I spent over two years of research.. for two years that's all I did, and I traveled.. Tennessee, North Corolina.. even Maryland.. back then there was no internet.. and I made copies of everything I found, I put it together on a anthropology tree. I even had recorded oral histories as some of these folks were still alive.. and all of it was destroyed.
This is why I visit genealogy trees. It brings back memories and the enjoyment I had doing the Burchfield's... Now my mother's side, it's lost to time..but every now and then I check to see if anything new has surfaced. I'm also part of a DNA study for people from the Cumberland Gap region.
