G2G: What am I missing in my mother's cc being 2 times mine?

I feel this is an obvious question but my tired mind can't figure it out. I have a connection score of only 1200-1300 but my mother, whose account I created with her and she only checks the emails- has a CC well over 2000.

Logically, having an additional family Id think mine would be doubled but since she has been married more than once is it counting her ex-husbands relatives? If so, it would seem that they'd be the same to me bc neither of us share blood...but then a connection isn't a genetic relationship... My profile is [[Simmons-11603 |Becky Elizabeth]] aka Simmons-11603 and hers is McCombs-593 but the data may be blocked since she is alive as well.

Just thought I'd get clarification if that is what it is :)

  Thanks!

Its a score of connections within 7 degrees, so her outermost ring must have that many more, and you are one removed from that so it doesnt get counted.
