When I add a new person, I get a duplicate profile and then have to merge the two. What am I doing wrong?

Maybe it is genetics, I'm guilty of the same and I don't think I'm double-clicking.

You may be double-clicking the 'Create New Profile' button.  Others have noticed this.

I am creating a lot of duplicates lately.  I usually do a search FIRST, then when I create the profile I DO review the list of potential duplicates.  It's possible I miss one, but the last one was a Phineas Whitney and it did not propose the duplicate of PhineHas Whitney who had the exact same birth date and nearly same birth location.  (Diff city but same county and state). Now I just created a Jacob Benton and didn't see the duplicate until I attached the spouse's profile which showed I had created ANOTHER duplicate.  They had the same name but slightly different birth date.
