G2G: New member introducing myself

Hello!

Just a quick introduction, my name is Deborah Nicholas. I started working on genealogy back in 2001-2002 on my ex-husband’s surname of Nicholas. Hit a brick wall, then life happened and I quit working on all genealogy until this year when I was finally able to afford a new subscription to Ancestry.

I haven’t picked up on the Nicholas line again, yet. Eventually I will get back to it for my children’s sake. I have been working on my dad’s lines of Shinn, Evans and a little bit of Waldroup. Currently working on Morris line from my mom’s dad. Will also at some point pick up on Steele and Whitaker on mom’s side.

Hi Deborah, welcome to Wikitree!

Wikitree has so many wonderful features that it is easy to get lost or overwhelmed. Just start with adding sources and pace yourself learning new things. These are links to YouTube videos which get my votes for most helpful - just be patient and keep watching until things sink in. You can always reach out in G2G when you get stumped.

If you hang in there and connect yourself to the main tree, your relatives ahould be able to find your work easily with a Google search and no one in your family will have to pay a subscription to see or redo your work.
