G2G: Asking advice before adding info to this pre-1700 profile

This profile for Martha Unknown (Unknown-641116) was added recently. I have some information about her I would like to add. I believe her name is Martha Brabrook. The profile states that she was born about 1700. The source I found says she was born in 1692, and so I'm asking for advice before I edit this. She was married to Abraham Estabrook and they were the parents of Huldah Estabrook. Are these sources reliable or do I need to find anything more?

I'm a little confused, Jodi.  The only thing shown in her profile is her first name, the connection to her husband and a daughter, an estimated birth date of 1700, and a link to a page from "Concord, Massachusetts, births, marriages, and deaths, 1635-1850".  The page only has 1 person with first name Martha on it, whose last name was Adams and she was born in 1724.

Your source is a link to the title page of the same document, which does not have any information about anyone.

Even if you change the link to point to a page that shows the birth record for someone named Martha Brabrook, I don't see how you can make the connection between that and someone named Martha who married Abraham Estabrook on an unknown date and place and had a daughter with him.

Hi Gaile! I cited three sources, which I thought connected them. The first does not go to the page I intended. I apologise for that!  The second shows that Abraham Estabrook and Martha Brabrook were married in 1718, The third shows that Hulda Estabrook is the daughter of Abraham Estabrook and Martha. I wondered if this was enough to identify who the unknown Martha is? Maybe not. I don't see the "Adams" you mentioned.  Thank you for your feedback!

Jodi, Martha Unknown's profile only shows that one link I described above as a source, and it does not include a citation.  Your question includes only one link that you labeled "source", which I also described above.  I have no idea what three sources you are saying you cited.

Perhaps another member will understand better than I can and thus be able to advise you on whether your sources are sufficient.  In any event, full citations are required for sources, not just a link to a web page displaying a record.

You said you 'cited three sources'.  Where are these sources cited? The 'source' you linked to is a reliable source since it is the town records, but the 'source' link in the question is going to a birth page.  If you think that birth item is the same person, then the marriage source needs to be added to both profiles, which would have her maiden name.  The birth information on the child does not give the mother's maiden name, so that is not helpful.

It looks like there may be multiple Martha Brabrook that married Sep 30 1718 in Concord or possibly someone got the name wrong when it was written down, since both items have the same Justice name as performing it. I found a source for Jonathan Estabrook and Martha Brabrook marriage that has the image, as well as Abraham Estabrook marrying Martha Brabrook.

The profile for Abraham and Martha were just created in the last week, so I would add the Marriage source to comments on both profiles, as well as the possible birth source for Martha.  The name change can only be done by the PM or someone on the Trusted List of profiles.

The birth year is just an estimated one for both, probably based on daughter's birth year.

Thank you, Linda, for the advice! I see your points and will add the marriage source to the comments on both profiles, as well as the possible birth source for Martha. The marriage record with Jonathan Estabrook does add confusion. Thank you for the time you took to find this.
