Trying to connect my Addis family.

Hello, hoping someone can help me put the pieces of this puzzle together, I am descended from Isaac who moved to OH from PA and married Hester CARRAWAY.

For his parents I have an Elizabeth LAUGHEAD, born 10/22/1760 in Fayette County, PA. (Another source has her name as Elizabeth Laughead Vansandt) She married Jonathan ADDIS c1760 in Bucks County, PA. Children were named: Martha, Joseph, John, Isaac, Eber, Josiah, Jonathan, Amos, Johnson, and Taber. Robinson Addis m. Sarah Gore is the son of Eber, nephew to Isaac and Elizabeth.

For Jonathan Addis parents I have John Walton Addis and Elizabeth Taylor.

But WikiTree has a sourced profile that shows that Jonathan Addis married a Mary Vansant (Strickland) not Elizabeth.

So, was Jonathan married twice? Or (My theory) did John Walton Addis have 2 sons, one named John and one named Jonathan? Both of whom had children named Martha and Joseph and possibly married sisters Mary and Elizabeth Vansant?

Your text is pale grey.  On a white background, this is almost impossible to read.  Could you edit your post, please, to a clearer black?

I'm not experienced in researching this time and place, but it sounds like you are asking if John Addis and Jonathan Addis are the same person. Based on what I'm seeing here, they are not - there seem to be too distinct families located in different places in the censuses.

If that's the case, I don't know that you have evidence of your Jonathan's parents?

It might help to look for more children of John and/or Jonathan to help solidify.

I don't think they are the same person. I was hoping some Addis people may have more information on this line as I know my John fits in there somewhere, just not sure where. Just looking for the missing link.
