Is it possible to find this person's identity and origins/whether they in fact existed? He had been with Simon (Fraser) Fraser Eleventh Lord Lovat (abt.1676-1747), and his wife as a son, in error, was detached, and subsequently had been attached/re-attached to at least two different mothers (one of whom died before he was born by a few years).

There is a William Fraser baptised 08 Aug 1731 in Rathen, Aberdeenshire to William Fraser (235 10 148) which is only 11 or 12 miles from Strichen where he supposedly died. That's as good a person as any as there are no clues on the profile and no descendants.
