How long should a profile be project protected and how much time is need to correct it?

Ten months have gone by on a profile that is protected and has a "work in progress" statement without any work being done on it. How long should it take to clear up a profile?

Karen, it looks like you want to propose a merge. You can go ahead and do that.

You might also want to edit your original question and add the tag "southern_pioneers" . That may bring additional attention to your question to the project that has protected the profile.

A profile can be project-protected for as long as the project a) thinks is necessary or b) the project is still in existence.  Or both.  Can be years.

However, the Project Protection help page says:

How to make minor improvements

The data, biography, and sources on a PPP can be edited by any member who has signed the Honor Code. If you have a non-controversial improvement to make, please make it!
