Profile merged but still appearing as separate child

Could someone please have a look at John Bird (1827-).  He has two sons linked to his profile Robert Bird (abt.1850-) and Robert Bird (1850-1921).  However when you click on 7057 it takes you to 7039.  Looking at the changes they were apparently merged in October 2018 so why are they both still appearing?

This is a phenomenon known as a "ghost" profile.  These sometimes happen after a merge.  In Robert's case, because 7057 was merged into 7039 back in 2018, it was safe to correct the issue.
In this case, it was a matter of editing the father's profile, then seeking the list of children on the right, then clicking the "add/remove child" link.  After that page pops up, select the merged-away profile — found under the heading "Remove his child" — and then follow up with what comes next.

I see there is also a proposed merge for his son Charles.  IF the ghost situation occurs with that merge - do not remove the ghost, but alert Jamie Nelson to the issue (a g2g question is good for that, tagged with bugs, and also jamie), as she is the one who is tracking the phenomenon on "recent" profiles.  ("Recent" being within the last several months, not years.)

Thanks for the explanation and resolving the issue
