New member introducing myself

Hello, I am William, I have lived in Maryland all of my 65 years. Am very active in genealogy, especially my Father's family.

My Father was a Washingtonian, as was my Mother. My Father had a Sister, who left a husband and 8 children around 1935 and was supposedly never heard from again. I have been searching for years with no success as to what eventually happened to her. Any Grandchildren alive have no information from their parents in regards to their Mother's disappearing.

Welcome to WikiTree where trees are pruned and identified. Your post says your mom and dad are both Washington's. Did you mean that they are both from Washington? If not, where did your Smith moniker come from? Almost a hundred years ago it was much easier to walk away from an old identity and take on a new one, especially if someone else paid the bills and your name was Smith. Hopefully, we can help in your search.
Yes, my dad was born in Washington,DC in 1904. My mom was born in DC in 1918. The Smith name in my family goes a ways back as my Grandfather was William Elico Smith, born in DC in 1867, Great Grandfather was Charles Smith, born in 1837 from DC and his father, my Great Great Grandfather was named Elicio (sometimes Alexander) Smith, born in 1809, in Baltimore. I believe the next in line was named Alexander Smith born in 1757 in Scotland.

Welcome aboard, William!

What an interesting though sad mystery. Once you have a profile created for your aunt, come back here to the forum and post a link or ID number so other members can help you.

Good luck with your research.

Hello, I added my Aunt, Teresa Ambrosia Smith Anderson to the tree I have begun.
Is this your aunt:

If so, you can start creating her biography with the sources provided.

If you need any tips on this, come back and ask.
Yes it is her.
I have added to her biography.
Hi, welcome.

I hope you find your loved one.  There are a lot of really smart, experienced people that are kind enough to help as you have seen already.
