Question

Erasmus was a Surfman who was awarded a Gold Lifesaving Medal in 1899.  He sat out on horseback  to make his regular patrol for ships that may have ran aground along the coast of North Carolina.  He discovered that the barkentine, Priscilla Captained by Benjamin Springsteen had in fact hit sand bars along the Atlantic Ocean.  Time and again he braved the treacherous waves in daring rescues of 10 individuals, dragging each up to safety.  Eventually other surfmen joined in on the rescue effort.
