Mickey McCarththy is a legendary Lensman, known along the coast of the (OBX) Outer Banks of North Carolina. He is known as Mickey, "2M" for his many pictures that he took of surfers. He helped boost the Eastern Surfing Association. He is also well known as a prolific surfboard shaper. He built thousands of boards under the "New Sun Surfboards" insignia. Yearly surfers meet in Nags Head, NC & swim out on their surfboards in honor of his memory.
