There is conflicting evidence in published sources, which I have set out in her biography, as to the parentage and birth year of Catherine Brooke (née Meares). Can anyone figure out exactly how she was related to her husband, the writer Henry Brooke (d. 1783)? Her mother was supposedly his aunt.
