Where in the Austro-Hungarian empire/Northern Italy was this place?

Hello,

I have attached a link for Joseph Biasi. The left hand and right hand pages are both his. I'm trying to find out where Spuz or Spruz, Tyrol is. Some have suggested that it is in northern Italy. Judging by the surname, it seems true. The 1877 Dvorzsak Gazetteer wasn't much of a help. Anyone else wanna try? Thanks!

I looked in the Genteam gazetteer, and there is no place named Spuz or Spruz. There is or was however, a place named Spiz, in the Tirol, which today is in the Italian Tirol. It is in the current parish of Sagron Mis, and former parish was Fiera de Primiero.

I am not sure if this is the right place, but it is only one I could find that seemed to. I tried replacing the “u” with every other vowel, and with wildcards, nothing else fit.

From Wikipedia:

Fiera di Primiero (La Fiera in local dialect) was a comune(municipality) in Trentino in the northern Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 60 kilometres (37 mi) east of Trento. It was merged with SirorTonadico and Transacqua on January 1, 2016, to form a new municipality, Primiero San Martino di Castrozza.[3]

With an area of 0.15 square kilometres (0.058 sq mi), Fiera di Primiero was one of the smallest municipalities in land area in Italy.[2]
