G2G: What if your GEDCOM has people WikiTree doesn't?

I've been working with a GEDCOM file to get woven into the tree better. I'm glad when I see who's already in place here. However, I have several ancestors who aren't in the world tree yet. Searches find nobody even close to them. These aren't "folk genealogy" entries, either. What am I supposed to do with them?

If you have uploaded the gedcom to WT and are working through the GEDCompare process, after you have matched or rejected EVERY suggestion, the ADD button will appear and you can enter all the new people.

Dave's advice is good. After you finish marking every suggested match in your GEDCOMpare as either a "Match" or a "Reject," you will be given an easy mechanism for adding "missing" people from your GEDCOM to WikiTree.

When that happens, start with someone in your GEDCOM who has a match on WikiTree, open a COMPARE screen for that person, and work from that screen to add people to the family group on WikiTree. When you get done with that person's screen, go to the profile for one of the relatives you added to WikiTree, and repeat the process from that person's COMPARE screen.

You add them to the tree, either through GEDCOMpare (after you've finished all the matching and the "add" buttons show up), or by hand. It's best to start with people who have an immediate family member in the tree already, so you don't have an unconnected profile floating around.
