G2G: Need Cemetery Category: Saint Martin's Pioneer Cemetery

I would like advice or may need help creating a new category for a cemetery that may not already be in the system. The category might be named something like Saint Martin's Pioneer Cemetery.

The cemetery is in Ontario, Canada.
In FindAGrave, the cemetery can be found here:
https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/2545560/saint-martin's-pioneer-cemetery

Could I get help creating the new category? Or is there an existing category to use? Thank you!

Looks like a tangled web, as there are four cemeteries on FG in that area with similar names (A, B, C, D), only one of them on WT (Pioneer Park, Peterborough, Ontario)

I don't see any others on WT (Peterborough County, Ontario, Cemeteries)

Probably should review them all on FG first, suggest merges where applicable, then either use the above existing WT category or create a new one as applicable.

Thanks, I see what you mean.

It looks like A and B are across the road from each other. One closed when the other opened.

C has a nearly identical name, but is in a different location.

D, the one with an existing tag, is a Wesleyan/Methodist cemetery, which is different. FindAGrave doesn't give a specific lat/lon for that one, but it is probably in the same general vicinity.

A is the one that has the memorial I'm interested in. In FindAGrave, its ID is 2545560.

One of the photos shows a plaque for "St. Martin's Cemetery, West"

I can set that category up if you want...

Yes, please! That's the one. It is FindAGrave cemetery ID: 2545560. The "About" notes in FindAGrave say:

Lot 6, concession 5, Ennismore Twp., Ennismore, ON
Also known as St. Martin's Cemetery west.

The OCFA {Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid} refers to this cemetery as "St. Martin's Pioneer Cemetery".

Opened 1854, closed 1904 when the present St. Martin's Cemetery came into use, across the road.

OK the category is up, and I've added it to McAuliffe-192

You can add it to the rest:

[[Category:St. Martin's Cemetery West, Ennismore, Ontario]]

BTW if you want to venture it yourself sometime, here is the help page: How to Categorize Cemeteries

Thanks! I'll take a look at the help page, as you suggested. I bet I will categorize a few.
