are Patrick Junkin and Peter Jenkins one and the same person?

Question

A couple of us, both managers of the linked profile here,  merged  (by default approval) profile cannot agree that Patrick Junkin baptised 1751 to James Junkin and Janet McGomrey are one and the same as the Peter Jenkins who is recorded as marrying Mary Buchanan.

One of us does considers that Peter/Patrick should NOT be connected on an online tree unless proof exists.

One of us believes a certain amount of "justified" connection statements overcomes this.

What needs to be added to the Research notes or profile or whatever to make the connection,
OR disprove the connection?

Thoughts welcome from both Scottish researchers AND WikiTree guideline experts.

Thank you, the link had been provided, but:

There is no doubt that Patrick is the child of his parents, so uncertain parent of Patrick is not accurate.

That the unknown male MAY be the child of Patrick  is already marked as uncertain and not the issue.

The main issue is I believe, how to resolve the unmerged match of Patrick and Peter to reunite the families with wife Mary Buchanan.

(The downstream duplicated children have been agreed and merged back together again, albeit currently as children of Peter and Mary, not of Patrick and the same Mary)

Let's look at it from the other side. Peter Junkin, certain husband of Mary Buchanan, is the uncertain child of James Junkin and Janet McGomrey. 

Patrick Junkine, certain child of James Junkin and Janet McGomrey, is the uncertain spouse of Mary Buchanan. 

You may have 2 distinct men. You might not. But you have proof of neither argument at the moment. I would suggest keeping them separate until proof is found, but add == Research notes == connecting both profiles.
