My FamilySearch tree shows someone trying to gloom off the van der Werf-Thompson Family: Freeman History source.  I have never seen the book so I don't know what the contents tell us.  Ancestry is trying to tie us into this clan by way of Alexander.  Again I don't see it.  I have nothing to work with.  The paper trail has run out!  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks

My Robert Freeman was born about 1750 in VA (maybe Goochland) and died in 1823 in Barren Co. KY.

Well, if you don't have sources that show parentage, then leave Robert unconnected to any parents.

Also, you don't give the link to your Robert Freeman.
