An Abigail Tuttle (1663-1722 in New Haven) shown as daughter of Thomas and Hannah (Powell) Tuttle of New Haven Colony has been attached as the wife of John Ross of New Jersey. The death citation given for Abigail Tuttle appears to say she is the widow (or wife) of Simon which suggests the Abigail who died 1722 was not maiden name Tuttle but married name Tuttle. (Link at American Ancestors)

John Ross went to New Jersey with his parents ca 1670. The identification of his wife is uncertain though thought by some to be Abigail Spinning (based on circumstantial evidence and the will of Humphrey Spinning). Others, absent evidence as far as I can tell, believe she was an Abigail Ailing or Alling. However, there is nothing in anything I have read to suggest she was Abigail Tuttle of Connecticut.

Absent any evidence or reasoned consideration of secondary evidence, should Abigail Tuttle be detached from John Ross?

Yes. I forget to remove her from this Tuttle line.
