G2G: Unsourced date of death of Richard Pickworth d 1766 Lincolnshire, England [closed]

There are several family trees on Ancestry for this ancestor quoting a date of demise, but Ancestry does not list any sources for the correct Richard Pickworths passing.  A search of other online sources does not provide any data.  The 1766 date is probably correct, confirmed by birth of last child, and remarriage of his widow.  All at Westborough Cum Doddington, Lincoln, England

Can any one help, either with a subscription to Ancestry to access the listed family trees, or by accessing other sources?

I looked on Ancestry. I found 1 tree but no sources for the date of death. I found several death records but none that match this Richard.

Thanks for trying, and for confirming that Ancestry is a bust.

regards

Nick

Hi Nick,

Richard actually died in 1760. According to the image of the Westborough with Dry Doddington Parish register, available on FindMyPast, in the record for 1760 "Richard [the son of Wm] Pickworth of Westb. buried January 8th".

Note that the vast majority of Lincolnshire parish registers have images on FindMyPast.

I also noted, a little further down the register, still under 1760, that " Richard, the son of Eleanor Pickworth, Widow of Westb., baptized July the 21st.".

Thanks for tis.  I did find a date of 1760 on https://www.freereg.org.uk/cms/about but it is easy to mis-transcribe 60 to 66.  I'll sort the date and provide the source, then look for Richard.

Regards

Nick
